Gotta love these central NY powder nights. It really makes a small hill a lot of fun, especially if you have the company of a half-dozen or so friends. Yesterday's clipper brought us 4-5" of fluff. Finally got the phat skis out for the first time this season. Wow were they fun! The just made me hungry for more, deeper and steeper. This weekend may warrant a backcountry foray to test out the AT bindings and skins that fit those Pocket Rockets.
Last night we got a good blast of lake effect snow that added another 5" to various locales. The skiing this weekend in central NY is going to be stellar wherever you go, on-piste or off.
Unfortunately, at Greek Peak last night, they had Odyssey closed for snowmaking and they didn't open Chair 4. That left us with Iliad, Eleysian Fields and Alcemene...so we did a lot of laps off Chair 1a. Chair 2 has some green trails, but isn't worth the trouble at night unless you are a terrain park rat.
