Slid the Little Headwall and the Sherby yesterday(2/27).Things are really looking good now.The Little Headwall is filled in with a narrow squeeze at the top of the waterfall but still very negotiable. All the players looked skiable.Sluice,Left,Right,Lobster, and Chute are all good now.Lower Snowfield was still pretty brushy as was the lower section of Hillmans, although the upper and middle sections looked good.I dont think Dodge's will come in but Dutchess is close.Maybey doable but there is an ice or rock bulge right at the choke making for a jump into a brushy runout on Lower Snowfiels.
Temps were balmy, around 30 with almost no wind in the Ravine.Bluebird skys dominated. The snow was softening up but not quite hitting the beloved "corn" status.
The sled ride down was phenomenal! The only section I had to get up and walk was the short stretch from the bottom of the Little Headwall to Hermit Lake. From there it was non-stop to Pinkham in under 8 minutes with faceshots all the way!Under ten from the top of Little Head.
I'm going to skin up Sunday Or Monday before I head to Jay.I'm hoping to ski Left and or Right and or Lobster Claw.
((*
*))NHPH
