Ski Films

Ok, I read on here a while ago about a film that was shot entirely in the East. Lots of footage at Jay, Stowe, etc. Does anyone know what it's called?

Also, anyone have any good recomendations for ski films?

i have not heard of the all east film...my biased opinion of best ski movie ever made is " fistful of moguls " by greg stump... i find the film to be almost prophetic... it has 3 major points to it.. 1) it talks about and shows why why moguls skiers are the best skiers on the mountain 2) it showcases a young jonny moseley and his rise 3) it predicts with astounding accuracy the new school fusion skiing movement and the direction it has taken as documents how mogul skiers pretty much started it all... those things plus it's got hillarious commentary/rants by glen plake... it doesn't have the usual warren miller pablum of people falling off ski lifts and riding inner tubes all that nonsense... it also has a great soundtrack , in my opinion. but again, i'm a mogul nut, so take it for what it's worth... staying with stump,i really like both the blizzard of ahh's , which showcases plake, big mountian skier scott schmidt and bumper mike hattrup and a lesser know stump film, groove, requime in the key of ski, a little more of a concept film that grows on you the more you watch it.. both have killer soundtracks and awesome footage. " groove " has some killer alpine downhillers slow -mo footage of world cuppers at top speed on pure ice... i also can recommend pretty much every teton gravity research movie ( main releases ,not the jib flicks which i have not seen ) except 2001's "further "...the soundtrack bites and makes it pretty much unwatchable... my favorite t.g.r would probably be , "the realm" or "harvest". tgr is the one company that puts out movies that pretty much showcase all types of skiing, not just one specific thing ( except ironically bumps, which is too bad , but no one is perfect, right anon? ) a lot of the new school film companies seem to just put out jib flicks... i keep waiting for greg stump to put out something new but he seems out of the loop now

I second Frankontour's comment. (Note that we're just hosting J&E Productions' website for them as a professional courtesy -- we have no financial interest in their production company, i.e. I'm not getting anything out of this endorsement). I'm guessing that this is the film that clg898 is referring to. Although there are a few western sequences, the vast majority of it is shot in New England woods.

J&E do good work.

If you're more into nu-skool than powder piggies, you may wish to check out "Elevated" from Meathead Films, most of which was shot in the East as well.
