Great day, considering last days' weather !

They finally just got 4" of snow yesterday before it re-changed in r@!n.

On the road going north, it was r@!n!ng all the way... until 2 miles of the resort when it changed in snow, at 1400' of elevation.

It was some very great spring skiing for the first hour there... but after, the north-west wind began to freeze the snow, so it was quite tougher to ski after, in the ungroomed terrain

At least, all the trails were still skiable, even the giga-extreme trails.

We have a video showing Pitch 1 ... and Pitch 2 of the Pirouette today. The Top Headwall was very tough to ski, so my run is far from my best, but still cool to see

(you must click right and save on disk too see it)
http://www.zoneski.com/temp/pirouette2.wmv

The off-trails were almost unskiable today. The only way to ski them was to go fast and it needed some big skills to do that...

Anyway, here are a lot of pics, taken by 3 of us !

http://zoneski.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=948

Note that there could be a new ski area in the province. There is some lines looking like trails that have been cleared on the north-east side of Mt Kaaikop (Mt Legault). This is one of the highest mountain in the Laurentians/Lanaudiere with a peak at 2800' The vertical possible could be over 1300' high, I'm not sure exactly. A sure thing, we're quite looking at the situation !!
