started off in my truck in the darkness and it was dumping .......dumping rain. I got to Smuggs and it let up in time for our Toboggan Enhancement Day. I was joined by a Smuggs and 3 Jay Peak Patrollers. Andre' and Bill, 2 Montrealers from Jay displayed some awesome telemark skills; Andre gets down so low that his knee is almost touching the shovel of his ski. He attributes this to being a hockey goalie. Skiing drills down Chilcoot, running sleds down FIS and Docs. The other 4 were very skilled and I had to hump to keep up - there's some very highly skilled Patrollers in northern Vermont, man. We free skied at the end of the day and Matt the Smuggs Patroller showed us some good (and new to me) off-piste just as some of us at MRG have showed some of the Smuggs patrollers some of the goods on Stark Mountain when we have these events. Fun turns were had on the whales on Bootlegger. Very good people! in NSP-Northern Vermont (Jay, Smuggs, BV, MRG, Cochrans, Midd, Lyndon Outing Club and 'da Bush) and that's we keeps me attending these workshops and getting more involved.
