3 inches of new wet stuff and light rain... but hey it was free for me and this year I gotta take what I can get...
Got there about 11 to find the Sterling lift corrals all open and all filled... 30 minute wait easy.. Once we got to the top, the snow was great though.. good coverage, very edgeable.. We hit black snake onto the natural snow Harveys Hideaway.. Two more runs down Smugglers Alley (great shape with natural on the sides and snowmaking whales in the middle).. then it was beer time...
Back out at 3 to find the same 30 minute waits, so we took one more run to the parking lot... and went for more beer...
Personally, I think Smuggs messed up this year and it may come and bite them in the ass in the next few years.. They worked out a deal to provide all St. Mikes students a $25 season pass. The place already gets packed on weekends and you hear people bitch about the old slow lifts... and now they decide to give an entire college a free pass ?? probably 25% of the people there on Sat had a ST Mikes pass visible.. it will be interesting to see how many regular season pass holders go elsewhere....
