Spring Break with young kids - looking for ideas

Having to work during the Holidays (like everyone else at work), I already requested the Spring Break week.

Now I looking for any ideas (I have a few of my own).

The wife and I + our two daughters (8 and 3).

We brought Morgane (8 yr old) two days with us at MRG last year. She could ski Cat Bowl, Glades, Gazelle, Slalom. Tara (3yr old) skied twice last spring. Like we did last year, one of us will be skiing solo with Tara and the other with Morgane.

One of the choices I was thinking was Smuggs (I haven't been there in 10yrs + my wife has never been). However I check I did a quick check on their website, $2500 for 5 days for the 4 of us. That seems very steep price indeed.

Do any of you with kids have suggestions? Areas, deals, etc. I never taken a real Family Spring Break vacation.

Really enjoyed my day at Wildcat in October (today it looks like October outside :D ).

What I really like about Smuggs for young kids is Morse Mtn. I didn't see a real seperate beginner area that would suit Tara.

Whiteface would be another interesting place with Kids Campus, however I've been numerous times at Whiteface. I've been numerous times at Smuggs, but it was all before moving to Ottawa and having kids.

When our kids were young we checked out Bolton Valley VT as it has on slope lodging with a pool always good idea for kids as they need something to do after skiiing . We also checked out " Le Massif " which would be a option since the Ontario break is not the same week as the Quebec one. For myself we are going back to MRG equipped with Mad Cards and Kids free passes .

Thanks for mentioning Bolton. Le Massif doesn't a idea beginner terrain for young kids.

MRG would be a great place, however Birdland was close last year on Ontario Spring Break, so it wouldn't be an idea place for the youngest.

My oldest also has a free pass at MRG, so I'll definately try to bring my oldest at MRG again this year (she want to ride the single solo :? )

I think smuggs is overpriced. Check out Sunday River - awesome mountain for kids and dads too. My kids love it. Mini half pipes, mini terrain parks, they do a great job.

yak, you are saying that smuggs is over priced but sunday river is not? i can not speak from a family perspective, but i don't find SR to be a good value for the price, especically considering the crowd factor.

burke has a completely seperate beginner area and is a good vaalue. good terrain for yourself and the older one as well.

For Western Maine, I'd go with Mt. Abram or Shawnee Peak for the Family experience.

I just booked a week in North Conway for the NH kids week.
North conway gives you wildcat, Black MTN, Cranmore(my kids love it there)Attitash is close. Plenty of shopping and places to eat. Many kids activities.
I usually run up to Sunday River for a dayfrom there.
I have stayed at the Town and Country Motor inn in Gorham before nice people decent sized rooms close to the River and Wildcat.
They give you discounts on tickets http://www.townandcountryinn.com Hope lincs are ok I have sent a few from AZ there before. Mention the Alpinezone and they have given discounts previously. Deletetion of linc is ok.
