Not a bad Turkey day. I ran into snow somewhere around North Anson at about 9. Got onto the hill by 10 and the top half of the mountain was missing in the snow...

Weather was snow, cold and windy. Manmade on Sluice was scratchy with the rain-affected snow being exposed. Ditto Spillway, though there was soft stuff under the chair in the 4-6" of snow that had fallen at the end of Tuesday's storm.

Further afield, Bubblecuffer was mogulled, I skipped it and traversed further through the woods to Lower Gondi Line. 6-8" of soft untracked with some schwack poking through. A couple open water bars to cross to get back to the lift. A very nice ski.

In for lunch, then back up, and the traverse from to top of Spillway over to King's Landing was open. I didn't make it over there though, Narrow Gauge looked too good. Dropped in and laid first tracks on it, too. Chose The Cribworks, and laid S's down it in 8" of snow the wind had deposited along the skier's left side. Good snow.

By now the SuperQuad had opened. Riding up, Upper and Middle Sheerboom were looking perfect, but being right under the chair were not an option. Played by the rules and skied King's Landing to Candyside instead. Meh, wet manmade. Some soft on the side on Candyside, watch the waterbars though.

Next lap was first tracks on Double Bitter. Nearly mid-winter conditions. A posse caught up to me when I stopped to catch my breath and we traded lines for the rest of the run.

At that point I had to hit the road in order to get Thanksgiving dinner together. It was a white-knuckle drive through the snow. Friday should be stellar and I'm not happy that I'll miss it. Damn blackout dates.

(Friday was stellar, apparently. Official word was 10-12" new snow and the trail count went from 6 to 41...)

Today was outstanding. They got an additional 6" (wraparound?) overnight on top of what fell yesterday at the condo where I was. Skied from choker to glancer and got tons of knee deep untracked. Everything you could get to was open.
