Only took a couple runs this afternoon.

Big fluffy light flakes were falling thickly from the sky. There was 3 inches at mid-mountain, and maybe 4-5 at the top of the superquad. Unfortunately it was so light that it wasn't making any difference to the skiing. I'd guess they'd need at least 12"-18" of snow like that to keep you from hitting bottom. Near the top of the superquad there was a fog layer, and above that the snow was finer and denser - but it was still having a hard time making a difference to the skiing.

It did make things look pretty though. Much better than the brown grass and clear ice that had been showing in many places.

On Friday I suspected that the trails wouldn't be able to handle much traffic, and Sunday bore this out. Any place that had seen significant traffic and had some angle to it had been scraped clean and down to bare manmade porcelain or even water ice. Ick.

It was still snowing when we left and I think it was getting less fluffy, which is contrary to what you normally want, but probably a good thing in this situation.
