They made the weekend. Closing down to re-tool. glad I was there. I was very wet though. :D Lots of work building the unloading ramp each day. They could have easily just bailed on this weekend, but did not. Very strong effort to support us. They got more NCP than they thought, but kept going. Was just T-2. Headwall was a sliver on Friday. Lots of Grooming overnight decent cover in the am on Sat and Sunday.. Sunday the headwall was getting a little narrow. After that there was a ton of snow still.

They will be going from barker this weekend. They have been tight lipped about what we have. Rigth stuff, xtc,Jims whim cascasdes, Sunday punch top to bottom and t2 all had snow made on them this week. I would bet Jungle road as well to get folks across to locke mtn.

Boyne likes to be tight lipped not to tip their hat to the competion. Sat looks like we ski in NCP, sunday a bit better and 24 7 snowmaking starts Sunday night. Look for South ridge to be open next weekend. They have had boyne fan guns ready for a week at the bottom.

This weekend is a cheap weekend to ski at the River if you want to get out. Tin mountain round up. $25

Sunday River will open for Saturday and Sunday from 8am - 4 pm out of the Barker area. Lift ticket prices are $39 for all day and $30 for half day. Or, ski and ride for only $25 by bringing in three or more canned goods for our annual Tin Mountain Round-Up also taking place this weekend. Check back here for more updates on terrain and lift openings.

t2 and t2 only for this weekend. add 50 degree temps with hot fog and rain and it just keeps gettin worse. why, why are they doing this? they'd be better off spinning the lifts till june, at least there'd be a base and perfect weather.
how desparate.

I was out for a bit both days. They made the snow, might as well use it. Those were the words I got last year. I don't think they have brought a ton on new people on to work. I know Sam is year round. Not sure about others. Closing down mid week, is saving dollars. Its pass sales... they are winning in that casue people see Oct to May lift serviced turns on the pass.

T2 had the snow fracture again as it got flat on Sunday. A ton on snow after the head wall. Some rocks exposed on the head wall on Sunday. Less of an issue than previous two weeks. Upper Sunday Punch could be ready with a night of snow making, Jungle road looked covered. The base of Sunday punch was walking from the pond to the locke tripple on Sat. 300 yards of walking on Sunday. They did make a grooming pass down the middle of Sunday punch Sat night. Cascades should be ready by thurs some decent mounds, but not white top to bottom. Same with Right Stuff. Jims' whim could open as soon as the ground freezes and they push the snow around. Snow is being made on Lazy river, all I can tell from the web cam. http://wwc.instacam.com/showcam.asp?id=NWRYS&size=L

I want late season turns as well, but any skiing is fun early season as well. 8 days in and counting. Thursday will be the 1st full day they will be open that I will have missed.

Looking forward to something other than T2 this weekend though.
