Tremblant at Easter?

Hey,
Might be going to Ottawa to visit some friends over easter, thinking about where the skiing might be good that weekend.

I thought of Tremblant, mostly because i'm familliar with the mountain, and for a day trip, I know which runs I'd want to ski (think expo would be open?).

Any idea what it might be like then?

Or if you have any other suggestions I'd love to hear them.

Thanks in advance.

Currently the snow coverage in the Laurentians (including Tremblant) is fine with minimum bare spots but they will close after the Easter weekend not because of lack of snow but more because of budget reasons. This time of year things could change rapidly so keep in tune with the weather forecast as you will need a clear day with temperatures in the high 40 ?s F low 50's F to create that perfect corn day . Nothing worse than a cold overcast day this time of year when nothing softens up.

Within a day drive distance there will only be Tremblant (2 hours), St.Sauveur (2.5hrs) & Whiteface (3hrs) MAYBE Camp Fortune (15 minutes) - from their site: Open - April 14 - 16. (dependent on conditions).

St.Sauveur is not worth the drive is there's anything else open in that list.

About Tremblant:

Anthony is right, coverage up north is pretty good from what I saw two weeks ago in the Gatineau Hills. Yeck, we lost our snow in our yard in pretty central Ottawa only last week. So Tremblant should be fine, it's been a warmer year.

On the last weekend (April 17) last year, I was able to ski these major trails Expo, Cossak, Grand-Prix, Vertige (under the rope), Kandahar, McCulloch, Taschereau, Beauvallon/Alpine, Duncan, Geant, Lowell Thomas (top), Beauchemin, Sissy Schuss. They only had four lifts running (Gondola, TGV, Lowell Thomas, Expo), mind you it wasn't Easter.

Anyway, I hoping to be able to ski a few days between Tremblant and Whiteface during those 4 days. :)

Here are a few reports from the past:

May 6 from Anthony (hiking to ski)

April 10 from Eric 312

Expo had plenty of snow and bumps last Friday. It should hold up as well as any runs. Tremblant is claiming 9 inches of snow the last 2 days.

Great!
Thanks for the tips.

I'll keep my eyes on the weather, and we'll see how things play out.
