I went up to Tremblant today... they definitely got a little bit of snow, but nowhere near as much as Montreal (i'd say their website guess of about 4 inches is right). I went over to CBC to check it out (it was closed); the trail definitely had enough cover to be skiable, and there were tons of tracks (maybe it was open a day or two ago?), but what really stunned me is how obnoxious the new trail they cut is. It is a big ugly cruiser from the part that I saw (similar to Duncan or something... as if Tremblant doesnt already have enough obnoxious icy cruisers), and you actually have to ski on part of it to continue the next section of CBC -- but its only the flats that they have destroyed, so at least that is good. They are putting up a sign for CBC at the midpoint off that new trail, so maybe now itll have more traffic with more people seeing it. They did change the trail difficulty to double diamond, I'm almost 100% sure it used to be single the three previous winters, but maybe I'm wrong. And once again, they closed all the trails which dump out to skiers right of the lowell thomas triple (bansai, tunnel, etc), although they have perfectly good cover. I wonder if tremblant plans to get their act together.... but after seeing that new trail I don't have very high hopes....
