Decided to take a day off from work and drive from DC to Whitetail for a day to get my legs loose for my 11 day trip to utah starting New Years Eve. Whitetail was reporting 14 trails open, of that, 6 or 7 are what i would consider real trails, in terms of length and difficulty. Coverage was excellent, over the last few years the resort has been lining their bigger trails with SMI Wizzard snow guns instead of air/water guns that they used to have and the difference is incredible. Snow quality was good, considering the temperature approached 50 during the day. My Atomic R.11.2's tore through the crud all day. Late in the day the snow go slow, but was still easily carvable and enjoyable. The terrain park had 1 big hit and alot of rails, me and my buddy did about 10 runs through there to get reaccustomed to air travel. All in all a good trip.
