Wildcat 2/23
Headed to the ?Cat for some fresh snow Wednesday. About 4-6? of new light fluff had fallen overnight and made the soft surfaces even softer! I started a warm-up with Lynx>Jag Glades. Soft boot high fluff was everywhere. Fresh lines could still be had by lunch but it was getting harder to find it on the map.
After my first run it was time to hit the Brook. Let me say that the B/C is really starting to shape up. Especially above 3000?. Down low the river still needs to get filled in but its pretty frozen. I can?t really go into too much detail, well I could but I?m choosing not to. I will say that if you aren?t an extremely solid woods skier ready to navigate very tight blind turns at high speed and jump frozen waterfalls in the woods with no run-out then stay well away from the Cats backcountry.
The day was perfect! New snow, almost no wind, temps in the upper 20?s and the quad had almost no wait. Pretty much ski on, a three chair wait maximum. And the day would only get better as I was staying with a friend that night who owns a condo at the Mittersill Alpine Resort. See my Cannon report for those details.
The run of the day on the map was Lift Lion T2B. Soft loose powder bumps with nice stretches of untracked on the sides. And I always love an audience when rippin? the fresh.
