Wow, can you say lean? What a depressing ride not seeing any snow until Conway. Even there, the snow was just in blotches up on the banks on rt. 16 It was a perfectly sunny 34 degree day with no wind . We did have 4" of new snow. It seemed that it was only on the "Wildcat" trail. It was a different climate over there and I skied many runs there without telling a soul. Also, they blew a lot of snow on tomcat schuss and lynx, but it was way too "grabby." In my 14 years of skiing I've never skied man-made snow like this. It was litterally grabbing and turning my skiis. Can anyone explain this? All that being said, those trails were very well covered. I was a little disappointed not to see any snow being made on panther or caternary. They are very popular and fun runs. On the flip side, tomcat schuss is going to be great after a dump. For me, the skiing experience is more of a mountain experience. Not seeing any snow didn't allow my mind to wander as we made the long haul up north On my way home, we drove by Cannon and a cloud was stuck on the Notch and it was snowing. I wonder what they got?
