Any telemarkers here?
Well 2 World Cups are planned to take place at Mont-Edouard (3 hours drive North of Quebec City) at mid-Feb 2005 (14 to 22th). Here the schedule:
Giant Slalom: Feb 15th&22th;
Sprint Classic: Feb 19th&21th;
Calssic: Feb 16th&18th.
English translation of my website to be done in few weeks but check a lot of pictures of Mont-Edouard and the Canadian Championships of last year at Festi-Telemark. A lot of powder already. All the ski trails to open Sat.
Don't be square be there! It rocks, it rips! And bring your fat skis...

To the webamaster: Marc the old website http:www.geocities.com/mont_edouard is dead

Is that the official Mt. Edouard website? Is that the mountain's logo/mascot? What is that thing?

Sorry, my French is very rusty and I can't read the copy.

Thanks for the reminder, wolverine. We had corrected the link in our "Ski Links" database, but forgot to update our 2002 story on Mont-Édouard. All is fixed now.

Nope, that's http://www.montedouard.com/ .

I'll be in Québec City myself for the holidays, spending Christmas with my in-laws and taking my kid skiing. Pity that I won't be able to make it all the way to the Saguenay, for Mont-Édouard has some terrific terrain.

Maybe this will be the year I get to sample Mont Grand-Fonds for the first time.

I feel very sorry for you Marc not to come at Mt-Edouard. Last year was a very great snow year but since the beginning of Dec 2004 it's powder every days when it is open (week ends only 'til Dec 23th). There is 48 inches of snow on the ground and we can ski everywhere (understand woods and off-piste). That's at least one month ahead of normal schedule. Some of locals like myself plan to ski the other mountain neighboard of Mt-Edouard. Steep, natural glades, alpine touring style (Fritchi Diamir or snowtubes). A trail to climb is almost done.
Also on Mt-Edouard, the back sides and the South faces, a lot of small cliffs, woods and great adventure. Tell me when you come next time!
I'm very sorry that you won't change your mind...I think you can't resist!(to be continued) :wink:
The official website is poor.
For the télémark, check hiver 2004 on the menu then telemark, classique, GS & Sprint Classique. The official leitmotiv is "Mountain of the fjord". I prefer the "mountain of the throll". For Norway fjord and throll are made to met like in Saguenay Fjord region in Quebec, Canada.

Believe me, I would if I could. My wife's family lives in Charlesbourg, and we're gathering there for Christmas. I'll head out skiing with my son a couple of times, but as the primary reason for being there is to celebrate the holiday, it'd be hard to venture as far as the Saguenay. You've got yourself one hell of a mountain there, though!

That means you only have Stoneham, Le Massif, Massif du Sud, MSA, Mont Orignal, and Mont Grand Fonds at your disposal... could be worse.

Speaking of, over on Zoneski a while back, we were goofing on MGF's supposedly "new and improved" site. Looks like a fun hill though.

Yeah, I'm sure to spend a day at Massif du Sud, one of my favorites in your province. Never been to Orignal or Grand-Fonds, so those are both on the "to do" list.
