Valais is a large region of Switzerland that contains many ski areas. Verbier and Zematt are the most famous, not particularly close to each other, which shows how large the region is.

We did not notice this post when it was made, but would be curious for a report and and from which ski areas. Feb.8-17 is the start of the school holiday period though I believe the following week is the peak for crowds.

Days in one year: 80 from Nov. 29, 2010 - Nov. 17, 2011
Season vertical: 1,610K in 2016-17
Season powder: 291K in 2011-12
