Spam postings

As some may have noticed, FTO Liftlines has experienced a rash of spam postings as of late. This generally occurs during the overnight hours by human forum registrants from Pakistan, India and the Philippines. Because these are human registrants and not automated bots these have been very difficult to control. We've been banning these users and deleting their posts first thing each morning, but for those east of our time zone this is certainly annoying.

What we've decided to implement is a "new registrant" class of user. When first joining FTO Liftlines, a new user becomes part of that New Registrant pool. As a member of that group, these users must have their first post approved by a Moderator. Once their first post is approved, they become a regular user and all subsequent posts will appear immediately as normal. This will not apply retroactively to existing users.

Prior to approving these first posts, the post will be reviewed for relevancy, and the poster's registration data checked for validity. These steps are being taken to improve the quality of content for our users and should cause a minimum of inconvenience for new members.

Feel free to post any feedback to this topic.

We were unfortunately looking in the wrong place to find posts awaiting approval, so three new users have had their posts held up for a couple of days. Apologies to those affected.
