Bolton Valley VT, March 10, 2018

Skied Bolton Valley today after the area received over a foot of snow over the last few days. The new snow opened up all the terrain . Found the best snow off the wilderness chair which was running today. From this lift you can pick your own lines down thru the trees which starts off with a bit of a pitch and mellows out to a low angle glade. Despite the additional snow , the previous melt left its mark so had to keep alert for various tree roots , stumps and rocks just below the surface. The Glades off skiers left on the timberline lift (low elevation ) had very thin coverage and not worth it. The rest of the mountain skied well with good coverage and the predictable scraped out sections found at narrow steeper sections. Pics below from the adjacent Bolton Backcountry Nordic area . Upslope elevation snow started up again in the afternoon so a additional few inches should accumulate tonight.

Would love to see more pics from Bolton. Not only to finally see an eastern TR, but also since it has been a very long time that I've seen anything from Bolton.

Mrs. Anthony has no interest in the lifts so the BV side and back country are a big sell. More and more ski areas are allowing uphill traffic during opening hours . We tend to select areas that allow climbing and riding the lifts. Saturday night, BV picked up another 8 inches and more on the way.
