Just a sampling of 4 ski days over the 2019 holiday period. Specifically: Dec 22, 25, 30, 31

3 of those days my son had race training, you can guess which one didn't :)

22nd - after a week of no new snow and warm-ish temps things were a bit firm, but not all that bad. the steeps were already open on the backside and only a few more snowmaking trails were yet to open up (mostly wind-blasted ones). I also have been helping out a bit more with the race program on-hill at times.

25th - much colder and with a dusting (front side) to an inch (backside) of new snow. Even the one inch really softened things up to a surprising degree. Jr even did two laps of West Ridge with me during our afternoon 1/2 day of skiing. It was Mrs EMSC's first day of the season as she has been dealing with some issues with her right foot all fall.

30th - Quite cold (-5F to start), but sunny with an excellently soft set of groomers all over the hill. Also got a few more laps on the steeps (salto/West Ridge). The upper half of the steeps has had much fewer than average rocks to avoid for this time of year, but the bottom half is getting pretty interesting in spots. ALso helped to set/tear-down courses on the upper mtn training lane as Chute was getting a send dose of snowmaking for the year since the "World Pro Ski Tour" is coming to Eldora in mid-January. That would include Ted Ligety mixing that in with World Cups on his schedule this year.

31st - Near carbon Copy of the 30th, though having skied it all the day before I was less interested and probably only skied ~14K of vert or so. Saving up as it were for the 1st, one of the better days to ski in Colo when so many are nursing hang-overs.
