Skied Baldy on 1/1/2020. Got up thereabout 8:30, easy drive up, light crowd. Warmed up on Chair 4 which was springlike but nice. Went back to my car for sunglasses and a snack. Skied the gulley under Chair 1 and found a couple surprisingly good short sections of smooth dry windbuff above the gulley on the skiers left (below nightmare). Those sections ended up being my best turns of the day. By the time I made it back up to Thunder a weird warm wind had hit and created a sticky top layer on the off piste runs, although the groomers (skyline etc.) stayed good. Around 2 pm a wind hold stopped Chair 3 and I went down, again unexpectedly finding good snow off Chair 1, this time smooth corn in what I think is Bentley's (the furthest run down the cat track on the ridge?) Driving out there must have been 10K+ people doing snowplay, it took a full hour to get from the parking lot to Baldy village.

I should have gotten up Thunder earlier but all in all I had some fun.
