I am pretty critical of the Jay reporting, but this weekend was right on. Saturday was some of the best snow I have skied in years.

Not really a secret since they had pictures of people skiing it in the JAy brochure last year with the tag line of the dip. This site is a little more off the beaten path than places like the AZ etc... Not too worried.

I was there also. Got there at 8, skied until 1:30, snow was a great surprise. Had planned on going to Stowe anyways today, checking the report this morning was a bonus. Had skied at Jay the past 5 days in a row, a change was good. Worth the money.

I don't know why people complain. You get what you pay for. Stowe offers probably the best skiing in the east. $80+ for Killington, blokemo, all the other southern vt places, sure a waste of money. Out west you also DO have to pay for parking, some places charge up to $25. There is a ton of...

I vote for Montgomery and skiing.

Same here, I have never been there and probably won't. I do not hope that it closes, Killington attracts some good crowds and some bad. I don't want their rif-raf up in the northern parts. Thank god Jay may be too far for some city slickers.

Look on the other side of Stowe. The prices in Hype Park, Elmore, etc... are more reasonable. From there you also have the options of the Smuggs and Jay. Prices in Waterbury and the Mad River Valley are pretty consistent with Stowe. The further from the highway the better.

Steve, do you miss the idiots here in MA plowing the roads 5 wide across the highway doing 20 mph and not allowing anyone to pass.
