    Jay Peak 2/21 morning report

I am pretty critical of the Jay reporting, but this weekend was right on. Saturday was some of the best snow I have skied in years.

    Jay 02/10/08

I didn't think it was that bad today. I only skied from 8:30-11 because of a family engagement, but overall it was ok. Yesterday was better. 4" is way off 1-2 yes, the JAy inches are in full effect for the up coming big weekend. What hpappened to the 2 feet??? another Roemer diarhea...

    The Dip @ JAy

I don't see discussing this place any different than discussing Big Jay. Pretty soon after one of these idiots gets hit by a car there is going to be an issue with skiing down there, and we will all have to suffer again. Did anyone see the sign about the two young men this weekend? That is...

    The Dip @ JAy

Not really a secret since they had pictures of people skiing it in the JAy brochure last year with the tag line of the dip. This site is a little more off the beaten path than places like the AZ etc... Not too worried.

    The Dip @ JAy

I know that skiing the Dip may as well be on the trail map these days, but it is getting rediculous there on weekends. I saw some idiot not control their speed at the bottom, skip over the bank on the roadside and land in the road, thankfully the on coming car was driving slow enough and a...

    Jay Peak panel love

Oh yeah, forgot, one last thing. The guys that I usually ski w/ at Jay and I were at Copper last year, while standing in line some of the marketing staff (probably interns) were asking skiers demographic and a few lifestyle questions. I was really impressed by that. A great way to get data...

    Jay Peak panel love

Steve, I will just give you an online version. I have been a season passholder at Jay for the past 4 years, had a year without a pass, for 4 years before that I had a pass at Stowe and Smuggs a year before my tenure at Stowe. To start off the hundreds of days I have spent at these mountains...

    What a day at Stowe.

I was there also. Got there at 8, skied until 1:30, snow was a great surprise. Had planned on going to Stowe anyways today, checking the report this morning was a bonus. Had skied at Jay the past 5 days in a row, a change was good. Worth the money.

    Jay Peak, VT: 12/29/07

Things were much better early today. Got up there for first few chairs. Skied until noon. Snow was really wet by mid morning. Yesterday was much better. It is still December, last year we were complaining about 50% open. Still have 4+ hopefully great months to go. Todays snow as a good...

    Jay Peak December 28th

Luckily I made it up to the mountain around 9 the crowds really got out of control at the Jet at 11:15, called it quits, singles line was winding up he hill and the utility lot was packed. There was a bit more snow than I expected. Headed out past Timbuktu on all 5 of .y runs. Fresh tracks...

STOWE prices: Fraud, Ripoff, or Are They Ever Worth It?

I don't know why people complain. You get what you pay for. Stowe offers probably the best skiing in the east. $80+ for Killington, blokemo, all the other southern vt places, sure a waste of money. Out west you also DO have to pay for parking, some places charge up to $25. There is a ton of...

Big Jay :: Man arrested for cutting down trees on state land

I vote for Montgomery and skiing.

Killington Bond Passes, ASC and Powdr Corp

Same here, I have never been there and probably won't. I do not hope that it closes, Killington attracts some good crowds and some bad. I don't want their rif-raf up in the northern parts. Thank god Jay may be too far for some city slickers.

    Live near Stowe or Sugarbush?

Look on the other side of Stowe. The prices in Hype Park, Elmore, etc... are more reasonable. From there you also have the options of the Smuggs and Jay. Prices in Waterbury and the Mad River Valley are pretty consistent with Stowe. The further from the highway the better.

    Stowe, VT: 04/12/07

Steve, do you miss the idiots here in MA plowing the roads 5 wide across the highway doing 20 mph and not allowing anyone to pass.
