    Breckenridge 3/20- 3/22

For Whale's Tail, if I remember correctly, you go straight on from the top of the Imperial lift, sort of heading left round the corner and then follow the ridge down and keep traversing across as far as you like. It's not the area directly under the lift

    Andermatt, Switz. Feb. 1, 2013

This might be an interesting read - some idea of what you couldn't see and future plans for Andermatt http://www.independent.co.uk/travel/ski ... 16638.html

    Alta 2/26/13

Skied a half-day at Alta before heading to the airport. No snow in downtown SLC overnight, so I wasn’t optimistic as I headed up the valley, but Alta delivered with about 6-8 inches on the ground when I arrived and probably another 3 or 4 before I left at 1.30. All looked smooth and I was...

Yep. I believe this would be from the “Icelandic Weather Station” school of architecture

    Powder Mountain 2/25/13

It may be a bit of a stretch, but I ended up thinking of Powder Mountain as a sort of squashed Vail – lots of acreage, lots of bowls, but feels like about half of the vertical. (And only about 10% of the skiers, so probably 20 times the chance of scoring some powder) If for nothing else...

    Snowbasin 2/24/13

Cannon, Waterville and sometimes Sunapee (although we've moved away from that because of the crowds) for day trips, Sugarbush, Killington, Okemo (because we have friends there) for weekends. The usual suspects, I guess.

    Alta, UT 2/24/2013

Okay, that's very useful info - thanks. Think I'll probably try PowMow tomorrow and then likely hit Alta on Tuesday, given the forecast.

    Alta, UT 2/24/2013

Nice! I wondered if the weather would be similarly bluebird in the Cottonwoods - looks like the answer was yes. Some luck, but a lot of local knowledge also, I think. And of course, the masses went to Snowbasin... Thinking about Alta tomorrow. It looks like Devil's Castle didn't open...

    WHOA! Snowbasin, 2/24/2013

The funny thing is, I can exactly see how Evren's report for the same mountain on the same day could be so different. As I was driving back down from the mountain, I noticed all the cars parked along the side of the road and wondered whether that was a regular thing and where all those people...

    Snowbasin 2/24/13

So after much deliberation (which many of you have been witness to) Snowbasin was the eventual choice for today. I arrived early, as the drive up from SLC was hassle-free and I definitely did not want to miss first chair, having flown across the country for this storm. Had to wait until...

    SLC, 2/24-26

Yes, Snowbasin had made sense for all those reasons, so that was my choice. Took advantage of the ability to make a decision morning of. Report to follow.

    SLC, 2/24-26

Very useful link - thank you. Looks like Snowbasin is the clear winner today, but from Admin's reports it sounds like the Cottonwoods were pretty good and are catching up tonight

    SLC, 2/24-26

Okay, so Brighton and Solitude are both reporting 0" new snow on their websites... :-s I figure one website may not be updated, but it seems strange that they are both reporting that at 8pm after a full day of snow. Meanwhile PowMow is reporting 2", but it looks like that was as of 5am this...

    SLC, 2/24-26

The question was really weighing Alta’s bigger area/bigger crowds with Brighton’s smaller area/lesser crowds, so I’m not completely putting terrain aside, just trying to figure out if the trade-off is worth it. Yes, partly my personality but also an affliction of the 10-20 day a year, East...

    SLC, 2/24-26

Great advice, as always on this board - thanks, guys. So I'm still keeping my options open. Unfortunately, as admin said the first wave was a little less than anticipated and Opensnow has dialed back the forecast for the weekend a little also :-(. Which is the best source for actual...
