yesterday was great ZERO CROWDS. was about 3rd chair up and even that was only 3. Couple completely untracked runs in Ballroom/shoulder. 4th down tombstone trees. They were loading the mid station right from the beginning of the day. Easy to get quick ballroom/shoulders. At about 10:15 I decided...

naa smartass...why dont you head up and ill show you where exactly we skied?...we skied Great Scott....traversed OUT of Great Scott (on the second or third run) to find a slightly smoother spot...but you can call it from the road if you like.. M

Well we bagged out of the West Rustler as we could tell it wouldn't be good.. And ummmm yeah you'd be wrong if looking from the road, it was smooth to skiers left of Great Scott proper, once out past the cliff, hard left again out to basically the bottom of Jaws, again SMOOTH, little "bumpy" on...

OK Tony ill lend to this pot stirring. Bird skied MAGNIFICENTLY, Cold, smooth chalk found in Great Scott (i think we did it 3 times), more of the same out in Andersons trees. ok so to roughly answer patrick. Alta vert 2020 call it roughly 6 minutes to top on collins. Call it 6 minutes down (way conservative, try more like 4) but for arguments sake lets leave it at 6 down. Thats 12 minutes per run. To get 80K you'd need to do roughly 39 or so runs. At 12 minutes...

I still dont know if I buy it and it certainly wouldnt be "enjoyable" skiing. It "might" be possible, but im still on the fence. Would be more easily believed if they had said they were at the bird....6 minute trams and all.. I'd say collins runs you up at about 6-7 minutes bottom to top...

OK so i was right...yeah i could top that at alta if i were just screaming down groomers. I can understand it then.... Still a big day for sure..most locals wouldve given up after a few runs, but when you're vacationing you have to maximize. M

What???? 80K at alta is impossible in a day.....maybe, MAYBE if you're skiing just mambo or something all day...but Jesus on a good day i can maybe get 20K...I dont buy 80K at Alta for a minute, and im pretty sure ive skied with RFarren... M

Still scored half your FULL day total in about 50 minutes....subtract all the hours you want....we ski fast. Just TRY to keep up.. I think Admin says it best when he skis full on with BobbyD and myself..."its not soo much skiing, as it is flying LOW". M

Only 3 gondolas? Thats SLOW... :-D BobbyD and i have done back to back to back to back trams at the bird (this is roughly 12K verts in about 50 minutes)......wouldve had the 5th if they didnt close the doors as we were walking up....basically that day, if we kept going, we couldve covered...
