You have nicely summarized why we are seeing the consolidation that has been happening over the last 10 years. Vail, Alterra, Boyne, Powder, all have diversified geographically to reduce annual risk. As highlighted this year, its rare for all geographic regions to have a bad year.

For the very cold (under -10) its essentially adding an additional layer everywhere. My boots are plug boots and have liner that is only marginally thicker than a sock. Adding the neoprene boot glove in addition to the boot heaters makes a big difference on the very cold days.

EMSC was planning to join me at Mustang in January. The dates are pickup January 15, ski January 16-18. This is the small groups, steep chutes program.

It still looks exactly the same with some different retailers in some of the storefronts.

However open ski map is missing the roads and hotels. The google maps is useful for trip planning including hotels, parking lots, etc. I recall Zermatt being challenging to figure out without google maps having the trails and lifts.

East half of the country, but no car is required at Tremblant. They have a very nice pedestrian village complete with lodging.

I did a quick check, many are back, but some are missing. No lifts appear at Red Mountain, BC, however they are present at Revelstoke, Blue and Tremblant.
