Yes we do. The top of Snow Ridge is flat, and they often groom it. McCauley and Titus do it too. The most untracked powder I skied in a day was at Snow Ridge, like 7000 vertical feet of largely untracked 400 feet at a time. Once you get the track set at the top you just keep slicing.

This is true. But in my opinion doesn't matter. Here's a screencap of the lift served ski areas in my neighborhood for the next 15 days: Yea the amounts are probably way high. But it helps me decide who to watch and ultimately where to ski. IMO many of the models do this too. (NAM, GFS)...
