    Sutton - Dec 10th 2006 - Powder again!

Yep unfortunately "print screen" is all i got for the elevation data... I run my screen at 1600x1200 so it makes an ok picture to post on the net... I just resize it to what i want and voila! What i'm looking for now is a way to take the "vector" that you see in google earth and bring it into...

    Sutton - Dec 10th 2006 - Powder again!

Here's the scoop: It's all a big cheat! Here's what i do: - I snap a pic of the GPS data in google earth. - I snap a second pic of the exact same area but without the data - I open Adobe Illustrator and put both image on top of each other. - I redraw the lines over the data with the colors and...

Heading up to Jay Peak on the 19th to the 25th

According to Jay's snow report, they're focusssing on Ullr's Dream for snowmaking... so your "big long one" should be open pretty soon... After the Ullr is done, they move to the "long" northway... Then, you'll have all kinds of long groomers to enjoy! Have fun up at Jay!

Heading up to Jay Peak on the 19th to the 25th

Define GOOD? If you mean good vertical with trails open and good groomers, the Jet will be operationnal. The mountain is white with natural stuff. Not enough to open the glades yet... I don't think they'll open before Xmas... So no "big powder" until then... However, if your intension is to...

    How's the mini warm-up affecting VT/NH?

Well, i calld my parents to know what was up at Jay this week... Apparently, the snow is melting quickly... You can't connect from Tramside to Stateside anymore... Natural snow trails are closing quickly... The Jet and Haynes are improving day after day however... Now, we need snow bad... I'm...

staying at jay. day trip to sutton, owls head, or orford?

...hey! I'm a person! But don't worry... i can ski anything too... I get out on skis 3-4 times a year... I can telemark too... but lack of practice and equipement makes it hard! I was suppose to buy some tele gear this season... went for the splitboard instead... Wouldn't it be funny...

staying at jay. day trip to sutton, owls head, or orford?

Well... of course, you have to ski at Jay! Owl's Head is cool... but doesn't have exciting and appealing terrain for me... I really like Sutton... sort of an MRG... Old school lifts... The lodge on top is pretty coool aslo. The skiing there is a lot more fun... Terrain varies a lot... Not as...

Day no5. Vertical gain: 3231 ft After the day we had at Jay, i had to get some more. Sutton was far from being fully open... so they had excellent coverage! We climbed from the parking lot (yellow) and did 3 runs. The first run (purple) was down a steep pitch with mixed cover... THere was snow...
