    FS: '10 Fischer Watea 94s (178 cm) w/ Rossi bindings - $350

I'm selling a pair of barely used 2010 Fischer Watea 94 skis (178 cm) with Rossignol Freeski² 120 XL bindings. The bindings are flat-mounted for a boot sole length of 326 mm. I skied on these skis three times. Nice ski, just not right for me. A scratch here and there, but basically almost new...

    mogul skiing forum

Great group. I've been a part of it from the start. A few members from AZ and K-zone. Small, but growing community. The site is down right now for me, but be sure to check it out.

    Strong Brutal Violence (?)

Not to beat a dead horse, but I immediately thought of this thread when I read this article. If anyone seriously thinks there is no money in online advertising, take a look at this thread and take note of the prices of these acquisitions: http://dealbook.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/ ... ght-media/

    Strong Brutal Violence (?)

Well, I'm not going to disclose specifics, but let me just say that even if all of AZ's active member base (currently 500) ponied up your initial offer of $10 per year, that wouldn't even come close to the revenue plus barter value I do each year via AZ. Speaking of barter, any guesses on where...

    Strong Brutal Violence (?)

It's not just about covering costs, Steve. Like Marc, I've spent likely thousands of hours over the years developing and maintaining AlpineZone since I started it in 1998. Sure, I love it and that's partly why I still do it anyway, but don't you think all that time is worth something? I'm...

    Strong Brutal Violence (?)

I've actually thrown around the idea of subscription-based ad-free content on AZ and it was immediately shot down by all the mods. I would imagine that polling the community would result in a similar response. Even if it did fly, do you honestly think that most ad-block users would suddenly...

    Strong Brutal Violence (?)

Yup. That's great. And then maybe admin will be forced to institute subscription-based access to this site to be able to recoop the cost of maintaining and developing FTO. Ad blockers are lame.

The weather: How GOOD will Friday be?

Heading to the MRV Thursday night. Really hoping they pick up some snow. Either way, it's going to get cold and the natural runs will be rough without some snow.

    Mad River Glen, VT: 03/31/07

MRG will be closed until Saturday. I was planning on Friday, but now it looks like Sugarbush. Praying the elevation snows materialize. Thanks for the report and pics, Steve.

first day out at Hunta Mtn

Nice! I was there on Friday and snowmaking was in full effect. It was too cold to bother with shooting a lot of video, but I came up with this featuring your very own, JimG.: http://youtube.com/watch?v=3KJpQcB_FLM A larger group of AZers is going this Friday so I hope to put together a better vid.

Best bet for Thanksgiving in Vt or 'dacks

As I understand it, the folks at the Bush really want to open with FIS off the summit of Ellen. Not sure if they have the snowmaking window to pull that off though. But if so, and if there's enough skier traffic, you can expect some small bump lines to form. Understand though, that you will need...

    New FTO format is live!

Nice job, Marc! Looks great. I understand that the forum is separate from the CMS used on the rest of the site, but have you considered at least updating colors on the forums to match the main site? You could probably also add a nav header to the top of the boards. It might just tie it all...

    The Seeded Bumps Thread

I'm a big seeded bump fam. My little local hill, Ski Sundown currently has some of the best seeded bumps I've seen in Southern NE. The low-angle run is short, but sweet. I plan to sample it again tonight!
