The Willoughby Quad is still there to use in the meantime. The Poma would have a crazy line and it doesn't go to the summit (although this would be pretty sweet on a powder day :) )

Burke got a REALLY late start on this lift as they were originally in talks to purchase Ascutney Mountain's HSQ. When that all fell through they had to order a new lift from Leitner/Poma. I don't know when the order was officially placed but it left the mountain with a rather small construction...

In N Vermont, Burke (off the spine) is a good bet to avoid wind holds. Monday everything was open with only mild/moderate winds. Sounds like Jay was excellent as well. Days when only the Bonnie quad in running are actually best for powder preservation. :D

It depends on how hard it is snowing on Sunday. If it is snowing so hard that the tracks you left on the last run are filled in... does that count as untracked fresh pow? :) I know there won't be nearly as much competion for that powder as many other mtns. Additionally, the 3-4" we picked up...

My advise is to go with the Stowe/Smuggs combo based on the recommendations above. If you are working in Cambridge then living in Johnson or Morrisville should be an easy commute to work and a short trip to the nearest resort (20 - 30 minutes either way to Stowe or Smuggs).

Jay is also a complex of several 3000'+ peaks which create a lot more upslope effect snowfall than the single 3000' peak of Mt Sutton.
