Acid Christ is a poser

Skied mostly Pow tdy at Greek. Been lake effecting all day. Skied one long lap which consisted of Upper Fields woods (good), Lower Fields woods (great), Stoic Woods (good), poached skiers left Zeus, skied Herc Woods skiers right, then Herc woods left where I came upon some kids poaching MY woods--had to throw them out for safety's sake, then swept (poached) Herc woods again to make sure it was safe. And I did it all in full poser mode on my kuros with Dukes that hopefully I'll never use.

Still a lot of red X's on the GP snow report. Good thing AC is keeping an eye on those dangerous woods... they're closed for a reason!

the width of the shovel on my ski is the width of the waist of his ski

oh yeah, he's got Marker Duke's on them...bet he doesn't even own a pair of skins for those skis and will unlikely never actually climb a hill or unlock the heel.

Poser!!
Marker did such an amazing job with the Duke marketing. I suspect fully half of the skiers in the Northeast that have Duke's have never used them. So many get them "just in case" they take up and like turn earning. Talk about putting the cart before the horse!

All joking aside River, I'll get out on those skis for some hiking. I spent two years as a pro patroller in Utah, doing all my avalanche routes via bootpack--I don't wanna "tour" like THAT anymore! I really don't call the Duke a touring binding per se, rather it's a "touring capable" alpine binding. Basically it's a step up from BCA's Alpine Trekker design but far more practical. It has a MOST solid feeling as a binding. FAR more secure than any Fritschi Ive been on.
I ski for a living among other things. Lil ole Greek Peak has some great hike-to shots over on the east side. No massive hikes, but just far enuf where it would be more convenient to skin to. And yes, I'd hafta agree with you-Marker did in fact do a great job marketing their product...AC

when are you going to get skins, and do they actually make skins wide enough for those boards?
On skis that wide, you don't need edge-to-edge skin coverage, despite BD having wildly expensive 160mm skins.

I would like to get the mantras with barons, and some skins, just for side country. It's my next gift for myself.

Poser or not, I've enjoyed this debate.

Regarding ATs, I've been looking between the Fritschi Freerides and MArker Duke/Baron as replacement for my Rossi/Naxo. DBATD!!!!

Leaning on the FF side, however AC seems to prefer the MD.

Either or. Fritschis are convenient (don't have to remove ski), good lifter adjusment, lighter than the Duke, BUT, to end this debate let me state that I'm a poser, and as such, I NEED the Marker Duke with the 16 din that I'll never use. The spring looks effin cool too. It's all about how you look going down the hill.
Seriously, the dowhill performance is great.

I'm sure the Baron's will work fine for me as they are basically the dukes but only go to 12 din. I think they are a bit lighter too.
