DAY 45 - MONTH 45 - almost year 44...great day and warm up there.

I'll be brief, I'm typing this from a hotel outside Boston.

I left Ottawa at 7pm and made it in Gorham 5 hours later at midnight sharp. 37F this morning in Gorham, I can just imagine that temps might have been below freezing on the summit overnight.

Plan: Meet GPetrics at Otto Rhodes at 8am. I get there and who is waiting? Lucky Luke for one last day...never proposed to him a trip here, I was sure he had skied his last day in the Chic Chocs 3 wks ago. I know he was swamp in stuff at work and home...he mentioned that he liked to come yesterday, but too much work. I knew he was 50%. I was right, he was there. He sleep in his car near Randolph.

Okay, so we drive up and aim directly for Airplane. Icelandic's party turned Airplane into a mogul field. Incredible. There was a good crew of skiing and tele today. We were maybe 7. Our group had already made one run when people started arriving.

First run, we skied 110m vert down the steepest part of Airplane. Lucky decided to jump over the choke and skied lower. The rest was wide and smooth. An extra 120m of skiing for a total of 230m.

After a few runs, we headed to look to see if there was anything left in Pipeline. There was, but it was short and sweet. 50m vert of smooth snow. I believe a few short runs here before calling a day of skiing and making a long walk back (at least for me).

PJ Harvey in concert tomorrow and maybe I'll see I can get a ticket for a Red Sox game at Fenway Sunday afternoon.
