In 2 weeks, all the snow melted in Montreal. All the natural snow disappeared in the south sides of the ski areas north of Montreal. There was only 20-25 ski areas still in operations in the province. In the Montreal area, there is just a few natural trails still open..... but... Mt Alta, completely with natural snow was still open on sunday, showing a 100% trails open. Of course, for a few of these trails, you needed to be seriously sick or really drunk to go skiing their pitches, almost completely brown.

But for most of the places, the snow coverage was correct to good and there was plenty of moguls and glades to ski. Here is a few pics of this marvelous day !

Moguls in the "Principale" Very Nice !

Unfortunately it was the last day of the season, but it looks like La Réserve's season is just beginning, as of what I see in the report of Eric on Zoneski tonight. I think that june skiing is very possible this year, looking to the incredible amount of snow left in that trail. The ski area may reopen next week for a last weekend, as all the trails seem to still have a great coverage !

I guess that Alta and MRG have more than one thing in common. Natural Snow AND closing on April 10th.

Nice. :-k

Great video- looks like more slush / grass / rocks than snow. I guess those were crapped out rock skis or they are now. Some nice form in those early frames as well.

Hi Frank !!!

I'm glad to see that Alta was still in decent shape yesterday :D Too bad I was at Tremblant yesterday but still it was good after lunch. Yesterday morning, it was all frozen [-X

How was the SuperSpeed, Marty ??
It's too bad it was the end because I wanted to go back for a last time after the horrible day on April 2nd

And yes, for the Loup-Garou trail at La Reserve it looks good :D

Alta , Val David Quebec ? Our own version of MRG , Where you have 600? vertical great terrain one lift and a shack. What else do you need ! This is what skiing is all about . Who needs Tremblant with its mortgage rate lift tickets. A family of 5 can ski at Alta for less than one person at Tremblant.

Looks like a good one weather wise this weekend, so ski/ride it while you can.
