only time for one being it mother's day and all but these 1-3" forecasts keep delivering. took a more direct route and skinned up what i think were the trees between stonecrusher and lone pine until 20-25 yds from the starting zone before being forced to transition and boot the rest. good to skin/climb what i rode though because you could test the snow constantly. revealing the snow would behave in most areas except the upper portion of those chutes on either side of the trees which upon crossing, seemed likely to sluff pretty good. so started in the trees, snow was good and rode real well with plenty of faceshots. be interested to know if i've identified the area correctly. thanks and enjoy mother's day.

And you're welcome for the snow, which happened because I left town. :wink: That post is coming.
 
Do I have permission to ask about snow stability. wind loading etc. at now unpatrolled Alta after the 4 day storm sequence described in BobbyD's report? :stir:
