Yo matt can you post a link to the other photos you took?

Skidog, I've got a bunch of them from him, just haven't had time yet to post. I think he's at work now. I hope to edit Bobby's video from today, too, if I can score the time tonight. My cam had a card read error that I didn't know about, lost all of my footage but we still have everything other than Backside from Bobby's cam.

Man, I scored a starring role in today's Powderhound flick! \:D/

Day 4: Welcome home

Other resorts may open, but there's something special about Alta's opening day. It's home. Driving up this morning felt normal. Having breakfast at GMD felt normal. And the snow? Well, the snow felt normal.

Alta was running Collins, Sunnyside and Wildcat, and virtually anything within reach of those lifts was fair game. The High T was windswept and bony across Sunspot Ridge, so we never ventured out there, but everything else was positively divine. Fred's Trees:

Wildcat, too, but the gem of the day was Susie's Trees, a couple of inches of pure untracked cream cheese.

Hang on, though, for the upcoming storm promises 3-4 feet beginning tomorrow.

We were running two helmet cams from Motorola that we were product testing, but the microSD card in mine crapped out, leaving only Bobby's video camera. It may be tomorrow, however, until I get this video transcoding complete - it's taking forever.

More tomorrow.

Quickly as I rush out the door, here's the video from yesterday:

It's a rare glimpse into the magical, mystical world that is Bobby's mind.

? Motorola? I've heard of a lot of helmet cams but never from Motorola. Call me curious.

And my wife now wants to know based on audio alone, "who is that guy and why has he never seen snow before"

We always have House on call in case Admin worfs up a lung after his 34th cigarette of the morning.

Is that song the theme from House or something? Call me clueless, I never watch it.

Just got back from another wonderful day. Will get to work after ibuprofen, booze and hot tub...in that order.

And call me unimpressed. Motorola sent us two of their XTC-100 SD helmet cams to test and review. For the second day in a row they each produced a bunch of corrupt clips. Today, fortunately, the best two runs of the day came out OK.

Today's Bobby gem quote of the day: "I've got so much caffeine in me, it's created enough electricity that you could stick a plug in my ass and light up the whole valley."

Soulskier should think about this for his renewable energy source.

Brilliant!!!

Booze and a hot tub sounds nice to me.

another masterpiece --- can't wait to see today's -- three more runs after admin, pat & dale had enough . gunsight - baldy shoulder as high as the patrol would allow -- and another high rustler to end the day.... tomorrow looks extra special

EMSC, I'm a bonehead...I meant Midland (the other radio company that begins with an "M"), not Motorola.

Midland = Cheapie stuff (at least in head cams IMO). You should see if VIO will let you demo their new POV HD. I can dream can't I.....
