Just back from Alta for my 2nd day of the season there.

Yesterday, I've seen some reports for Shefford, Sutton and Bromont and it was really looking like bitch. So it was sure that today was in the north, even though they got a lot of rain there too. At least, they got about 2-3" of snow after, so I knew this would be skiable at least.

The mountain didn't lose too much snow with the recent rain. Here is the center trail after 4PM. Still a good coverage for this ski area with 0% snowmaking !

When I arrived in the morning (while it was dumping hard), it was simply uncrowded and there was still some little powder lines to ski, in many places. With the end of the snowfall (just 1" finally ) more people arrived so there was no waiting, but an enough good crowd for this mountain. (let's say 250 persons).

The texture was quite hard in general, but with all the off-trail lines of the mountain, I found a lot of places to make the first tracks... since I did the first tracks in those places last week lol

The Secret glade was of course well traveled like always. It still misses a little bit of snow to be perfect, but it's close ! What a nice long gladed line.

I did 3 runs in the Slalom Woods II. Awouuuuuuuu ! (I don't put a name on this spot on the french website). This was of course the best spot of the mountain today. I did 3 runs in it and there was 3 tracks at the end of the day......

4" of little powder and as there was just 1 track before this winter (mine, a week ago), the cover wasn't too hard. It was really nice to do !

Somewhere in the first part : (near the end of the day)

Just a little bit lower (still enough steep)

The Slalom was interesting today like always...

I skied with a guy of Zoneski.com and his daughter and he took a little video of me doing the top part, after the very short grass part (there is a pass to avoid them). Should be funny to see... I'm not sure if I will be able to put it online, though, as the webmaster of Zoneski is in the ex-Marc Guido's state, actually ! (FL) (and I won't have an internet connection next week)

At the end of the day, the trails were beginning to be seriously tough to ski, the extreme ones in particular, but it remains a nice day, considering the conditions elsewhere and I never waited for a lift Too bad, I found a super nice and long line of bumps on my last run. Joegm would have loved it a lot, I guess !

Next one is Tremblant next wednesday morning during my training !! I just hope that the snow will come before this.

LET'S GO THE SNOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
