Marc, in the spirit of harmless back-and-forth, who the hell says, "Discussion fora"? What is wrong with discussion forums? Which ivory tower do you post from?

I admit that we could charitably say Jtran’s post was written quickly and he didn’t mean to call Evren a liar. But it’s definitely an easy mistake to read it that way and so maybe we can forgive Evren's strong reaction. More importantly, how much of that response was maybe just a delayed reaction to your “stfu, noob” and other dismissive comments hurled at him and others previously?

So if the intention is to have a message board for “ a core group of SLC locals”, then have at it. I might read, but probably won’t contribute much. No great loss unless there's a whole bunch of others doing the same. But if Admin’s intention is a bigger group, then here’s the difference, Marc. I don’t know you personally and (as yet) you’re not my best buddy trading barbs in a bar. That could change and maybe if you were, then I could see the big smile on your face and also maybe see you contribute something positive to a conversation once in a while. But your online persona is mostly negative, bullying and (sorry) not funny. At least, that’s my perception from reading a lot of posts over the years, and your response to this post was just one more illustration of that. And that's a shame, because I think that image is probably doing the real you a major disservice.

Jeez, can we get back to discussing SKIING on these forums?? LOL

Speaking of skiing, it pretty much now officially sucks in the East after three days of warm temps, rain and snow-eating fog. We went from fairly good mid-Winter conditions a week ago to bare ground and green grass, thanks to the January thaw. I can understand why die-hard skiers move West.

Thanks for the kind words. I wasn't expecting that.

Skidog, you're right that a poster here questioning snowfall numbers is not a "take your ball and go home" sort of thing. But Admin calling me a_pussy (essentially) for responding to that, is. For two reasons. It is a somewhat unique setup that Admin/owner looms large over this board -- he posts frequently, knows many of the people, etc. For my posts to have credibility, there needs to be a modicum of support from him. Instead he chose to publicly snark at me. Secondly, there are multiple reasons for posting TRs here but a large one for me is to see a board I like prosper, and that's tied in to my interaction with and opinion of the owner of the board. Which was quite positive. I admire his writing, I liked him when we met. Which is a big part of why I turned people on to this board every chance I got.

I don't mind... no, I downright enjoy :snowball fight: with Marc_C or anyone else here. I also think Admin should be cognizant of his unique position on this board when posting.

As for that day, patrol never found my skis. I remember thinking "Well, it could be worse -- what if I lost my keys?" Then, after dark, in a snowstorm, one hour from home, I lost my keys. So sitting at Cinnabar which was about to close, reading "For God's sake, man up a little will ya?" pissed me off, yes.

I did no such thing. That's how you interpreted it.

On frequent occasions you have demonstrated a willingness to take personal offense to comments posted here in response to something you've posted, particularly when those comments disagree with your point of view. I therefore recommended that you "man up" to get a thicker skin, particularly with regard to jtran's inquiry which was clearly innocuous and inoffensive - nothing less, nothing more. I would've said the same thing to you if we were talking in person over a beer somewhere, which you may recall we have in fact done.

I have control over my comments and stand by my position that I intended nothing offensive. I have no control over how you choose to interpret my comments, jtran's comments or anyone else's.

Which is precisely why I have not responded for the past three days and refrained from comment until now. When someone twists my words and implies that I said something that I didn't say, however, I will rightfully respond to defend my actions.
