any of you weather buffs

just wondering if any of you weather buffs think that this upcoming disturbance for Friday into Saturday will remain snow at Jay this weekend?

It seems real close and I would imagine the mountain could get a wet snow over rain this Friday but trying to decide prior to making the six hour trek up north.

any help?

Checked every weather source I know out there and none really say what is going to happen on the mountains only the valleys. Roger HIll says possibly 5 inches+ according to Jay's site but I have found him to be more inaccurate on snowfall this year than in the past.

Thanks

I have a few friends heading up to Jay this weekend. I think in terms of conditions, Jay will probably have the best conditions in the northeastern US this weekend. If you must ski, Jay is your best bet.

As for the mixed precip...it doesn't seem like it will be significant, and it is to finish off with snow, and then sunny weather with highs in the 30s, so the surfaces should hopefully be somewhat soft.

It is a gamble, but you'd probably find the better skiing in the northeast up there this weekend.

as of now, zero chance of snow this weekend.. but like sharon said the precip will be light
If you head further North and East, it might be good. But that is also too far for me to consider it for a simple weekend trip.

I'd actually stay south. It's going to be really warm in NYC 60's, that correlates to some good spring skiing in the southern resorts. If you do go north I think the chic chocs should be a safe bet.

since PA just got snow, it might be a good time for spring conditions at Elk. Elk is a very nice mountain.

Not bad for a PA joint. If you squint really hard, it kinda looks like Deer Valley  ... or maybe it's the logo.

I think I'm just going to go for it this weekend and gamble. I'll shoot up to Jackson and stay with my buddies at the Abenaki ski club Friday night and ski Wildcat on Saturday. The way I look at it is, if it's warm and raining the snow will be soft, but if it's cold enough for snow then :D :D :D . I better go to Bass Pro first and get some Frogg Togg rain gear first. Cheers, John.
