long having been on the list, it was finally time to hit up this classic gem in jackson, NH. WOW! can't say enough about this place, really. after skiing cannon the day before with such disappointment, nothing could have elevated my skiing and mood more. ok, enough raving, on to the no bull. <BR> <BR>2/3 groomed, 1/3 not groomed. perfect ratio for my tastes. the classic new england style cut to the trails was awesome. greens and blues had perfect groomed surfaces with excellent base depth. excellent place to learn and work on technique with empty slopes. <BR> <BR>holiday weekend and ski on lifts? where else? longest wait was three chairs. <BR> <BR>non-groomed and expert terrain was especially sweet. JOEGM!!! CHECK THIS OUT! small bumps on moderate pitch galore! <BR> <BR>for small to moderate bumps, upper speedwall, lower speedwall, bob-a-link, sun valley, roller coaster, sugar glades, and the lower half of upper maple slalom TAKE. bumps were a little hard due to cold weather, but no scraped. they were small to medium size in most places and most skiers were avoiding them. i felt like such a show boat under the double! definitely felt i had improved technique and was skiing better in the bumps. loved showing it off to the mostly intermediate audience riding the double! LOL! <BR> <BR>trail of the day hands down was white knuckle, a double black off the double lift. this trail reminded me sooooooo much of the old taft trail from mittersill. fairly narrow and winding with soft mid-sized bumps in a perfect line. man was that fun! <BR> <BR>lostbo was a nice steep drop, black forest was a good intro glade, and upper galloping goose is magic's "red line"'s little kid brother that wants to be bad ass, but still isn't quite there. but almost! <BR> <BR>Mr. Rew, Mr. Rew Glades, and Lostbo Glades were not open, everything else was. lots of squares with natural cover, almost all the diamonds were natural snow. no lift lines, no crowds, and cheap! fun fun fun on a holiday weekend.
