Booth Creek sells Waterville Valley

I'm most interested to see what plans, if any, they have for expansion. Rumor has it that they've long been sitting on permits to expand south to Green Mtn and, more tantalizingly, north to the true summit of Mt. Tecumseh. The former holds great cruising possibilities while the latter offers the prospect of true expert skiing with long fall lines - a pretty scarce commodity at WV. There's apparently also talk of connecting the mountain with the village via a lift. You'd be looking at something like a 2400' vertical if so. With it's convenient access off of I-93, it could be a bit of a sleeping giant.

Waterville on a weekend or holiday period has never been accused of "sleeping". With the proximity to Boston, it's always been jammed on weekends. Speaking of scarce commodity at Waterville, the first thing they need to address is parking.

in the master plan there is plans for expanding onto both green peak and the true mt. tecumseh summit. I believe with the mt. tecumseh expansion plan they could not develop it because of a endangered bird species that was living on it, but if no evidence is found of the bird anymore it could happen. over at green peak the plan is to remove the lower meadows double and or replace it and move that complex over to maintain the beginner terrain and put a high speed quad from there to the top of green peak. the current vehicle maintenance garage and shop would be moved and a childrens center built in it's place. this was all the last I heard of plans, I used to work at waterville as a snowmaker and snowcat operator and had heard this from my boss who has been there almost 40 years. would be nice looks like there could be some excellent terrain at both places
