Day 1 is in the bag; I got skied today.
Headed up to Brighton in the middle of my work morning for a few runs on their opening day, which was also the opening day for Utah's season. I bumped into Julian Carr and some guys I know from Park City TV in the liftline, and Ski Utah was there to take photos and film along with several local television stations.
I spent most of my morning with mbaydala before we were joined by the other Ski Utah Powderhound, Powderhound Cat.
Snowmakers did a great job, and open terrain was wall-to-wall and thorough. Just as liftlines began to get excessive for Majestic they opened Crest, which took a lot of the heat off even though the softer snow was on the mountain's lower half.
I left just as things were starting to get busy around 11 am, when the main parking lot was already about two-thirds full. It was great to see so many folks getting out there on a Thursday season opening! Solitude opened today, too, and I'm guessing that there were about 60-70 cars in the Moonbeam parking lot as I drove past.
