Calling Powderfreak!!! :-)

For upstate ny and new england. This could be a very interesting event.
In a nut shell . 1st low drives to the great lakes while cold air covers all of the north east. 1st round of light precip arrives sometime on saturday as snow as far south as nyc. Warm air aloft will change the frozen precip to sleet and rain south. As of now the northern extent of the warm is to around Albany may S. VT. Late Sunday night a secondary low will form south of long island and drive to coastal new england. This is were the fun begins. As the second low cranks up it will shut off the warming and the snow will begin to fly in earnest.
Snow amounts for the mts of vermont 8"+ with the potential for a lot more with up slope and wrap around. new hampshire and maine will also be clobbered.
The rest of the week should be cold..

lets hope the models don't make a fool of me. I am sure Scott will add all the technicals to the forecast

It was reported by Scott in another forum that there's potential for a foot of snow in the high northern mtns.

Let it snow!!!

Looks like its going to snow to me.

Was up in the gullies above the Gondola at Stowe yesterday, tried to reach for the bottom and I couldn't find it. Not great skiing in the woods yet, but there is an enormous amount of snow there. With Sunday night's storm, things are about to get very good.

Stowe groomed out gonadalier and chinclip like they were bound to open them up this weekend (they didn't even till any rocks up).

It's about to get fun out there.

In other business,

The Lord de-virginized my XXL's yesterday.

The Lord at Stowe that is. I can't wait to rip them down freshies on Monday morning!

I hadn't asked Scott about this one because we do ask a lot. And even a hacker meteo could call this one. It's going to be good. I'd be surprised if anything north of Albany and above 2000 feet got anything less than 90% snow. And a foot wouldn't surprise me, probably more in NVT.

My two cents.
