7AM, 32 degrees F, snowing lightly, light winds 10-15 MPH from the W-NW, 5" to 10" of heavy new snow.

I skinned up Banshee (where I came across a doe browsing) to Avalanche, where I got first tracks this morning from Killy's Corner!

I thought I had first tracks for the year, but found a track from last night coming down Extension.

When I started down, I met two guys coming up. One snowboarder , who was hiking, and one skier skinning up my track, who said he made the first tracks last night!

Great early season conditions. I got a little hay caught on my tips here and there, but the waterbars are all filled in!

Good enough visibility for skiing, but unfortunately not worth taking any picts.

As I got on the parkway to head to work, I looked back at Avalanche, and saw a black bear on the trail.

It should be all tracked up by 5PM, and I'm sure a good time will be had by all!

30 days to opening day! YEAH!

Nice, I was wondering how Cannon was making out with all this snow. This is the first news I've heard from there... :D
