Central NE Light to Moderate Snowfall Thurs AM

I haven't looked into this too much but I think it might be sneaking up on
us. The new 00z NAM and 00z GFS have indicated Advisory level snowfall (3-
6") across higher terrain of the southeastern Adirondacks, southern and
central Green Mtns up through the Whites into Maine. GFS and NAM are in
pretty good agreement and bring the .25"+ QPF line up to a Burlington-
Stowe-Berlin line with an area of .5-.75" QPF centered from the northern
Catskills through southern VT, central NH, and into the foothills of
Maine. 850mb 0C isotherm runs from Binghamton-Albany-Lake Winni(NH) in
the first part of the event before dropping it southward to the southern
Hudson River Valley-Worcester-near Portland while -3C replaces the first
0C line. Up north, -3C isotherm runs through the southern 'Dacks, to
Waterbury to Berlin before that area is replaced by -5C air at 850mb.

Bottom line right now, until I can digest all the information (soundings
and all 00z info not out yet) is that the Killington area looks to be
ground zero for a quick 4-7" snowfall (from RT4 to the summit) between 4-
5am to 12-1pm Thursday. 1-4" possible above 1,000ft in southern VT/NH and
the northern Catskills, with a coating to 2" in the northern Berksires and
possibly highest terrain of northern tier of MA. That area will need to
be watched for dynamic cooling increasing snowfall.

Up north of Killington, 2-5" all the way to Mansfield through the Whites.
Sunday River looks like 3-6" with 2-5" Sugarloaf in Maine.

Stay tuned, more tomorrow morning once all data has been digested. 500mb
trough is much stronger than in previous runs and that may initiate a
stronger surface low that tracks from NYC to BOS.
