For the 4th time in the last 5 weeks I got a message from Acid Christ (texted from the lift at GP) that the conditions are the worst ever. Today I got that same message, only worse.
He says...if you can ski this, you can ski anything. It's that bad.
It has rained substantially this week. The ground is just oozing. I am imagining torrents of water flowing down the solidly firm slopes at GP.
It should all freeze up pretty well tonight and for the rest of the week. This weekend there's a small hope that the 40 degree sunshine will soften the surfaces for some kind of minor corn harvest. It's the best we can hope for right now.
Still praying for that big end of season dump. We'll need a lot because the ground is just saturated. Anything less than 6" will just turn to soup. If only I believed in a god, I'd be praying to it now. I'm just praying in general that something will happen in terms of skiable precipitation...call it wishing....wishing hard.
