:D First turns of 05/06 :D

Me and the dog climbed up to see what we could find. Got about 500 virtical feet on 1foot of soft settled powder. Got another 500 feet below that on variable rocky terrain and catwalk. Stopped about 2/3 of the way down so the board didn't get totally destroyed. :D

You can see the photos on flickr....

October 13: Almost Freshie

If I didn't have to work today I would be there again

Nice TR. I need to shoot the base of my rock board. Those core shots and bent rail have nothing on what I have been hitting it with. 8)

I'll get some pics this weekend of the beater.

Way to get 'er done! 8)

Ouch:

:D I must admit I was a victim of peer pressure after seeing Guido and Hamdog's pics. I usually don't even think about going out this early, but the fever around these boards got the best of me. Glad I did though.

P.S. Loved your bc pics of lovland pass last year, you'll have to give me a tour one of these winters soon. Is it true you can do loops by hitching?

Mapadu and his dog used to hitch rides in the cabs of hazmat semis that had to take the Pass instead of the tunnel. Hitching laps is a frequent m.o. there.

Oh, and I somehow missed option_ride's transition to a black diamond! =D> It seems like only yesterday I was congratulating him on the promotion to blue square.

Now that's hardcore. :D
I bet he could get a ride to Los Alamos and do Pajarito on the same loop 8)

I've never had the opportunity to loop. A friend that lived in Jackson a few years told me they had a great loop there. We used to get a half loop on Red Mountain Pass, but it still included a steep climb before the decent.

That would be good topic starter.... best car loop BC.

Dec. 16, 1995 we flew to Denver and drove up to a friend's Keystone condo for 5 days. We were settled in about 2PM, so I took off for Loveland Pass, did 3 laps of 700vertical each, no problem getting pickups as it was Saturday. Very easy, direct routes get enough traffic to be skier packed.

I think she is done at the end of the early season.

Option_ride. I think my pics from last year were either Monarch or Berthoud Passes. I don't think I got over to Loveland pass at all. Berthoud and Loveland both offer relatively easy bootpacks in and runs back to the road. Monarch on the other hand, you need a splitboard if you really want to ride the good stuff there. If you come out up to the Front Range, I'll be happy to give ya the Berthoud tour.

lol :) I know I'm completely ashamed... it's definitly just my rock board.

Killclimbz, I think your right, it was berthoud pass. I definitly might take you up on a tour one of these days. Maybe sooner than later if the forecast holds true. Also nice split in your rail, that must have been fun. I'll be sure and pack some extra p-tex for you when I hit the front-range. :D
