Very late report I know... but sunday was a day like I'd never did before.

I was with a ski buddy and we hit in the morning the same lost ski area that I posted a couple of pics last week. Still some amazing conditions and the very best classic narrow trails of the province.

After few runs in that old mountain, we passed close to Mt Alta to take a picture of the mountain, so finally, this is the mountain I never stop to talk of. We only see about 25% of the mountain width on this pic, with the trails Superspeed (partially hidden on left), Principale (wide bumped one), Slalom Géant & Olympique (twin pitches) and the gigantic trail at bottom, the open slopes. We see the side of few other slopes, but there is really a huge part which is not shown in this pic ;)

(yeah, I know it's a tiny mountain for you, but nothing rocks like Alta )

After that, we continued to La Réserve. In 3 hours there, we did 7 runs... hahahaha.

Our final runs were in the Pirouette and Chute Libre to relax a little bit after what we did earlier.

(Reminder : this is the Pirouette) (I effectively said "relaxing in the Pirouette" lolol)

The first run was a relax one (Extreme Couloir).

The second run was a mega backcountry off piste one in the soussous with a return by a super nice backcountry narrow twisty trail ending in a skidoo trail to come back to the area.

3rd run is actually the crazyiest thing I ever did in ski. We walked 20 minutes from the summit of the mountain in 16-20" of snow to reach the end of the mountain. At this point, the run is 60 degrees and you don't really have the choice to ski some cliffs, but with 5 feet deep of snow which is weirdly not windblown. The run was simply amazing. To have an idea of the steepness, you can see this pic taken by my skibuddy in the lower part of the slope, after the cliffs part.

Just before that, my buddy had to remove his skis to jump a cliff with insecure landing. Finally, it would have been secure, cause he went deep to his shoulders !!!! After few minutes of digging to exit him from there, here is a pic : (too bad my camera's lens was dirty)

After that, we arrived in a spot that he never talked me of. It's a place owned by the neighbours of the resort. There is 2 glades that were skied 15 years ago, before the closing of the mountain. They're still maintenanced and they're some amazing powder spots. Extremely long, they reach a crosscountry skiing trail, which is always going down to the base of the resort. Only problem : we missed the exit for the trails of the ski area... so we ended on the road 125, at 3/4 miles from the ski area : DOH !

It was simply an amazing run ! 2+ miles of super extreme backcountry with somes places with 3-4 feet of light powder and the untracked glades at the end with 16+" of powder.

Here is a shot of the glade we took :

After that, we took back twice the super nice twisty narrow trail in the lower part of the soussous + the big extreme trails of the mountain which were excellent, even though all the powder had been skied over the week and the saturday.

Tomorrow I'm heading once again for a B/C trip with a part of the day at Alta in the off-pistes super glades !

Too bad that I had to cancel my trip to La Reserve this weekend, but it's going to be too cold anyway.

What is the vertical there? The website makes no mention.

The true lift-serviced vertical of la Réserve is 900' high.

The 3rd run we took was about 1100', though... cause we hiked to reach the beginning of our run and the access road climb enough to reach the ski area (and we arrived on the road at the bottom)

Honestly, their website is not super good. They changed it super often this summer and the final result is not quite good
