Well, not the first snow of the season in Utah -- the Wasatch picked up 8 inches last weekend -- but the first to reach down into the Salt Lake Valley.
As rain fell and temperatures dropped yesterday morning, precipitation at my house (5,000 feet) turned to snow, accumulating a thin slushy layer on grassy surfaces.
Around 3:15 pm I left to drive up to Alta to see what was going on up there, and surprisingly there wasn't much more. That, however, didn't keep some folks from frost skiing on the mowed area connecting the top of the Sunnyside lift to the bottom of Sugarloaf.
Bring it on!
