they put a new webcam up on top of Odyssey. You can control it...zoom in/out, pan

you can see Chair 1 and Iliad pretty well and the Meadow belwo Eleysian fields

They've been getting 1" every day this week, so surfaces are pretty nice.

Acidchrist says the skiing has been pretty decent and the glades are open, though the steepest glades are down to dirt, but the low-angle glades are sweet.

Good to see PDQ finally emerging from that destructive "the snow is always deeper" mindset.

The first time I flew back from a ski trip in the Alps (and could see dozens of EC ski areas from the airplane, from the Gaspe Peninsula all the way down to NYC), I was thinking "I can't ski those things any more." After sulking for two weeks, I was back rocking the molehills.

Well, I still haven't gone to a ski area since Snowbird. Even with 2" of snow daily this week, I was tempted, but opted to go home and watch the women's downhill instead, which I think was probably much more exciting than riding Chair 1a for 10 minutes and skiing bumps on Fields for 2 minutes, over and over.

I'm saving myself for a weekend up at Jay Peak. They haven't had much more snow than Greek Peak this week, but I know the base is deeper and there's a chance for some refresh from the Jay Cloud.

My friend's band is going to be playing there tomorrow and Saturday, so even if the skiing isn't fantastic (like it was last year and the year before) we'll still have fun on and off the slopes.

At the risk of speculating from a huge distance away, and with information provided by only Jay Marketing and radar ...

I think Jay's going to be pretty good this weekend.

Can't wait to see the pics! :-D
