Gulf of Slides Ski Trail had some decent cover, considering how lean the last month has been.

We were so desperate, we braved zero-degree temps and a sub-zero windchill to ski the Gulf of Slides ski trail from about 3750' elevation down. Chauvin Guides' map

There were still some freshies on the edges, and most of the rocks were covered. There was about 4" to 8" of fresh snow left from the previous 72 hours of snowfall, depending whether the wind had been kind to it. Most water bars were still not completely filled in, and required care skiing across.

looks like fun!

i was up in the ravine for an avy1 course.... after digging some pits, etc. we rode down the sherburne... it was in much worse shape than above but was still totally skiiable with some ice but no significant bare spots.

man it was cold up in the ravine  plans to hike left gully were immediately dismissed after the winds and cold greeted up as we crested near lunch rocks. avy danger was up to moderate and i figured it would be pretty ironic and stressful to my wife to ignore all i learned and get caught in a wind slab release.

Nice! Amazing to think it's practically March and we're still talking about waterbars filling in.I'm still BCless this season. This time last year I had 8-10 trips.
Thats going to change quick as I have next week off and plan to do some long overdue backcountry.
