base depths-check, sun-check, warm temps-check, clear/cold nights-check, midweek-check, east side of mt washington-check.

after careful, persistent preparations of building, fertilizing, seeding, de-weeding and layering it's time to reap the rewards of our amazing coastal spring climate and EPIC CORN HARVESTING.

i'm ready to jump out of my skin, quit my job and sleep in the honda for the next 3 months for this harvest. mid-week is looking quite deluxe.
anybody in?

Harvest time it is , as north of the St . Lawrence it was a day of corn snow and corn dogs on the BBQ. Base depths are deep for the faithful.

I just had 4 amazing days of harvest.

If these warm temps and blazing sunshine keep up, there may not be much left in a month, though I'm sure Mt Washington and the gullies will hold snow for quite a while.

We've started the spring season with some awesome weather for corn harvest.

Saturday at Cannon was very good on the lower part of the mountain. Fogged-in all day at the top. Sunday was epic at Wildcat. Misty rain in Gorham but stopped by the time we hit the parking lot. Tippy top in light clouds that cleared off with a nice view of Tuckerman's in the distance. Lower temps at night kept the snow fast but not too firm. Sun was out most of the day until the clouds blew in just before the lifts closed. Beautiful corn day and a good time was had by all. Coverage is still very good on most of the steeper stuff. Plenty of good stuff left....go out and getcha some. Watched quite a few skiing the lower headwall at Tuck's. Some guys skiing really big, fast lines. Cool to watch from across the valley.

I was in the ravine yesterday, and skied the headwall in not so many turns. Maybe you saw me! Great day in the bowl yesterday.

The snow was GREAT! Not many people over there, so the corn didn't get chopped up like it normally does so quickly in the ravine. Have never been able to ski so quickly up there and feel safe doing so.

here is a picture of our line

nice photo! dodges looks a bit firm. spent yesterday at gos all day, great untracked turns in the snowfields. in the late afternoon went to black mt to ski some of the finest corn in the whites. today i did a solo skin/climb to the summit then descended on skis right from 6288 summit sign to the car 4300 vert via the east snowfields pictured above, down over the lip into tucks, through the little headwall and down the sherbie to the car. 3 hours up and 30 minutes down, really milked the east snowfields, completely untracked perfect corn up there, some of the best conditions on the mountain today fer sure. the day was still young so we went to cranmore for the afternoon to tour up on the skinny skis for beers on the deck and more perfect corn for 1100 more vert and of course we stayed for more laps with the dog on the lower mountain, just another 10 hour day. what an amazing season so far with months of great skiing to go.
